Your reading stays
on your Mac.
Scripture Companion is designed to work without an account, advertising, analytics, or cloud synchronization.
Effective July 25, 2026
The short version
Information we collect
Scripture Companion does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share personal data. The app does not require an account and does not create a user profile.
Information stored on your Mac
The app stores settings, reading history, and favorites locally on your device so its features can work as expected. This information is not uploaded to Scripture Companion or synchronized through a Scripture Companion cloud service.
Retention and deletion
Reading history is retained locally for 30 days and is then removed. Favorites remain on your Mac until you remove them. You can clear reading history from Settings and remove favorites within the app.
Because Scripture Companion does not receive your app data, there is no server-side account or personal-data record for us to delete.
Network access and third parties
Core reading, widget, history, favorites, and settings features work without a network connection. Scripture Companion contains no analytics SDK, advertising SDK, tracking technology, or third-party service that receives app user data.
Children’s privacy
Scripture Companion is a general-audience Scripture tool. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else.
Changes to this policy
If Scripture Companion’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before those changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page will also be revised.
